The Louis Roch Séguin Pavilion

The Louis Roch Séguin Pavilion is the welcome center for visitors. Here you will be directed toward our various fishing activities. The welcome center, the administrative hub of the park, is the gathering place for many guided interactive activities. Here you can sign up to learn to fish or to perfect your technique. The pavilion houses the exhibit « Fish Tales », a wonderful introduction to the world of fish.

The building is named in honour of biologist Louis Roch Séguin. As biologist for the provincial fish hatcheries in Saint Faustin and Baldwin’s Mills between 1947 and 1962, Louis Roch Séguin dedicated thirty years of his life to the study of the reproductive cycle of fish. A life long resident of Baldwin’s Mills, his passion for wildlife was later channeled into the private sector through the Centre de recherche en Alimentation de l’UQAM (University of Quebec at Montreal Center for Research into the food supply) and the l’Association des Pourvoyeurs de Chasse et Pêche du Québec (Association of Hunting and Fishing Outfitters).

While visiting Pavillion Louis Roch Séguin be sure to take a moment to visit our boutique and discover the many products of our region including a wealth of gastronomical treats. Choose a souvenir of your visit from our collection of sweaters, caps, t-shirts, frig magnets, lapel pins, etc. . .
